College Park is home to a number of inviting parks and trails. From multipurpose fields and pickleball courts to playgrounds, splash pads, and walking paths, spots like Charles E. Phillips Esquire Park, Barrett Park, Richard D. Zupp Park, and the Phoenix Trail offer something for every outdoor enthusiast.
Historic College Park Golf Course

Built in 1929, this historic nine-hole course invites golfers of all skill levels to enjoy a relaxing round just minutes from downtown, everyday of the week from sun up to sundown. The facility includes a driving range, two putting greens, and a clubhouse—a perfect way to spend a sunny afternoon outdoors. Pro tip: Come on the first Wednesday of the month and enjoy 9-holes plus a cart for just $10!
Outdoor Dining
When it’s time to refuel, College Park delivers with some incredible open-air dining options. The Real Milk and Honey serves up indulgent brunch with al fresco seating on Main Street. Zubi’s Taco Kitchen offers a variety of tacos—including vegan options—along with daily happy hour specials and an expanded outdoor seating area perfect for relaxed evenings. And if you're craving a burger and beer, Brake Pad's spacious patio is a go-to neighborhood hangout for casual, satisfying fare.
Fairburn

One of Fairburn's favorite outdoor spaces is Duncan Park. Residents love how clean and well-maintained the grounds are, and the shady trail that circles the duck pond is perfect for either a quiet stroll or a healthy jog with scenic views. There's also a public restroom, athletic fields, a playground for the kids, and leashed dogs are always welcome. Pack a picnic and spend a day in this spacious park!
Cool Off in the Summer Sun

In the summertime, there's nothing better than a refreshing dip in an outdoor pool. Duncan Park Pool & Splash Pad opens to the public this year on May 23, 2026. Open swim time is available every day of the week from 1PM - 6PM, with early morning and afternoons reserved for water aerobics classes or kids' summer camps. Hapeville

Hapeville’s green spaces are woven into the fabric of its tight-knit community. Jess Lucas Y-Teen Park, located in the heart of downtown, plays host to regular events like Coffee & Chrome and La Fiesta en Hapeville. Families will find plenty to enjoy at John Lewis Memorial Park and Dog Park or the Tom E. Morris Sports Complex, which includes a new splash pad and skate park.
Art Stroll
As the self-proclaimed "Home for the Arts," Hapeville's downtown has the largest concentration of murals in the District. Grab the new mural map from our website and embark on a self-guided tour through the city’s colorful collection of outdoor artwork—it’s a free and inspiring way to experience Hapeville’s creative culture. Skip Starbucks and get a cup of coffee to-go from one of our favorite local coffeeshops to add even more flavor to your stroll.
Outdoor Dining
Hapeville’s artsy vibe extends to its dining scene, where patios provide a front-row seat to the city’s charm. Sip inventive cocktails on the expansive patio and green space at Paper Plane or enjoy all-day breakfast on the front porch of Folk Art. For hearty Italian fare paired with excellent wine, grab a table on Volare Bistro's cozy back deck. The all-seasons covered patio at the Hapeville Corner Tavern extends out to the lawn with additional picnic tables and yard games.
South Fulton

The city of South Fulton has an abundance of places to play outside. For a shady nature trail, head to Wilkerson Mill-Farris or Trammel Crow Park. Workout at the indoor gyms of Burdett Park or Sandtown Park & Recreation Center, or bring the whole team out to the athletic field at Old National or Creel Park. Play day or night at the lighted courts of Cliftondale Park. Cascade Library has a cute "pocket park" where you can sit in a gazebo and enjoy your latest read. Gardeners can get their grow on at Mason Road Park and Community Garden, and bring your dog to get their zoomies out at the fenced-in Canine Crossing Dog Park.
Go for a Swim

Along with the many incredible outdoor recreation options at Welcome All Park and Multipurpose Facility, you don't want to miss the indoor aquatic center! Lifeguards are always on duty, and you can get an invigorating full body workout in the lap pool, complete with lane separations, diving boards, and timers. Or you can climb to new heights in their Splash pool - complete with a giant slide! The pools have adult and kid-friendly options, plus lessons and locker rooms are available.
Wolf Creek Golf Club

Two best friends and GA Tech alumni took great care to transform Wolf Creek's beautiful 250-acre landscape of rolling hills and natural wetlands into 18 tranquil holes by thoughtfully constructing a course that works with nature, and without any bulldozers. This respite, designed by Mike Young, is known as a "golfer's golf course," and is located just 15 minutes from Downtown Atlanta. Wolf Creek Golf Club offers memberships, hosts tournaments, provides private lessons, and is the home of a PGA Jr. league and a Spark league for casual players looking for socialization and friendly competition.
Union City

Union City boasts several well-equipped outdoor spaces for play, relaxation, and community connection, many of which include nature trails, basketball courts, playgrounds, and picnic seating. Mayor’s Park offers a peaceful setting with a walking track and free Wi-Fi, plus a Little Free Library. The Eagles Nest Sports Complex has everything from ping pong tables and skate park to volleyball and baseball fields, and in late 2025, community members came together with Kaboom! to help construct a beautiful, brand new playground! And you can't overlook Ronald Bridges Park with its tranquil Nature Trail, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of the outdoors.
