Getting AroundIt's all right here.
Once you touch down in the ATL Airport District, everything you need is just minutes away by car, rideshare or MARTA. Need to get from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to the Rental Car Center (RCC) or the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC)? Easy! Hop on the free 24/7 ATL SkyTrain and it’ll carry you straight from the Domestic Terminal to either destination in five minutes or less. Or, if you’re staying at one of our many nearby hotels, check whether they offer a free airport shuttle—many do.
Down the block or across the District.
There’s a lot to see and do in the ATL Airport District. And while some find it plenty walkable, others prefer a smooth ride—especially if their itineraries are taking them beyond the immediate area and into the greater metro. Whether you’re travelling alone or with a group, the District has lots of easy, affordable, and safe ways to get everyone where they want to go.
For larger groups, bus charters can be easily arranged (and our CVB team is available to help, no matter the group size). For smaller groups and individuals, rental cars or mass transit might make the most sense, both logistically and economically. Taxis, Lyft, and Uber are always available as well.
For VIPs, parties, and divas who demand—nay, deserve the very best, limo and town car services are also widely available throughout the District.
Get on board.
The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) offers both rail and bus service throughout the area, including all points within the ATL Airport District.
There’s a MARTA rail station inside Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, conveniently located near the baggage claim area and offering access to the Red and Gold lines that run north and south through the center of Atlanta and into Sandy Springs and Doraville, respectively. Transfers to the east-west Blue and Green lines are free at Five Points Station. This gives you a quick and affordable way to get from the airport to Atlanta’s downtown business and entertainment district, Midtown, Buckhead, Dunwoody, Avondale Estates, Decatur, and central destinations throughout the ATL Airport District.
MARTA has bus stops and rail stations within walking distance of many of Atlanta’s major attractions and destinations. Fare options include regular one-way rides, discounted and group fares, multi-trip passes, and 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, and 7-day passes for those who wish to ride to their hearts’ content.
For more information, visit the MARTA website.
Drive your own destiny.
Some people just need to feel the wind in their hair, which is hard to do on the bus or train. We get that. In the ATL Airport District, the Rental Car Center (RCC) is the place to go for any set of wheels you desire. Linked to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC) via the ATL SkyTrain, the RCC is an easy, free, five-minute ride from the airport terminal, and all of the major rental agencies can be found in one place.
For the intrepid traveler.
Bring or rent a bike to ride on our many mountain bike trails, our pump track, the Dick Lane Velodrome, or Metro Atlanta’s other popular bike routes.
Rent a party bus to take your group around the block, through the city, or up to wine country.
If your journey should carry you into Downtown or Midtown Atlanta, a pedicab or party bike can be a memorable way to get around, or if you’re headed further north, you can rent boats, rafts and tubes to float the Chattahoochee. Since hotels here cost about 30% less than up in the city proper, visitors who stay in the District always have a little extra cash to spend on the fun stuff—and can even tack on an extra day or two!
