Two Drink Minimum, a play by Bill Balzer

A man tries to keep his relationship with his mother on an even keel as she grows older. Directed by Lynna Schmidt and with an all-star cast, this show at the Academy Theatre will share the bitter, the sweet, and the funny of aging parents. Tickets are $30.00 and $25 for students, seniors, & military.

Hapeville's monthly "car and motorcycle show" is the perfect excuse for chrome enthusiasts to get together and show off their antique, classic, or customized vehicles. Or you can grab a cup of Joe and enjoy the morning browsing the cars and bikes in Jess Lucas Y-Teen Park.
Hapeville Happy Days Weekend
Sept. 20 & 21
Hapeville will be rocking in September with two nights of free family-friendly concerts! On Friday, Sept. 20, "Alumni Night" will feature Hapeville favorites Spectrum and Darwin & Friends from 7pm - 11pm. Saturday's lineup includes The Sarah Nova Band hitting the stage at 7pm to dish out all your favorite top hits, pop jams, hip-hop beats, and R&B grooves. An electrifying performance by The Rec Band will close out the event.

Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers
Sept. 27, Oct. 3, Nov. 15
There are three (3) films for the 2024 fall series and admission is free for all. Films will be screened at Christ Church & Carriage House located at Jess Lucas Y-Teen Park in Hapeville, with a reception starting each event at 6 pm including complimentary food, beverages, and live music. The film screening will take place at 7 pm and will conclude with a Q&A session with the directors/producers of each film. Please visit this page regularly for ongoing updates and information.
Opening Reception | Whiskey on the Rails: Hapeville and Southern Prohibition
October 11 | 6 – 8 pm
The Hapeville Depot Museum is unveiling a brand-new exhibit that delves into Hapeville during the Prohibition era. Attend the history lecture and see the exhibit before heading over to a Hapeville watering hole, such as Cafe Belli or Hapeville Corner Tavern, in honor of Prohibition being history.
Academy Theatre's Sunday Variety Series: Drew Laffery Concert
October 13 | 6:30pm
Inspired by Frank Sinatra’s music, Drew brings rich vocals with great emotions to the songs sung the world over. Along with his bassist and guitarist, he's bringing a night of smooth melodies to the Academy Theatre that will make you dance and revel in the classics! This show is part of the Sunday Variety Series, which was launched by the Academy Theatre in 2022 to showcase talent from around the Southeast. Check their website for the full lineup!
Hapeville's Dia de Muertos Celebration
October 26 | 5 - 9 pm
The 6th annual Hapeville Dia de Muertos Celebration will include art exhibitions, an artisan market, live music and performances, a community altar, food, and more! Sign up for free art workshops leading up to the event starting in late September to get into the spirit!
Downtown Live: Chili Cook-Off
October 19 | 6 - 9 pm
This free community event will feature performances by Kate and Corey Music with opener Tyson Halford. The evening will also include a Chili Cook-Off organized by Family Life Ministries that will support their work to help those most in need with food, hygiene items, and other life necessities.
Clue, the Musical
Multiple dates between Oct. 25 and Nov. 10
Based on the classic board game, this hilarious musical at the Academy Theatre will have you guessing who done it before you go home!
