Starting point guard for the Atlanta Dream, Renee Montgomery, opted out of the 2020 basketball season so she could focus her time and energy on activism, specifically for Black Lives Matter. She also worked with Morris Brown College, an HCBU, on their $5 million fundraising campaign, which helped it apply for reaccreditation. Montgomery and the Atlanta Dream will begin playing their home games at the Gateway Center Arena in College Park during the 2021 season. Read more about Montgomery’s activism here!
