These buzzwords are seemingly background noise in some destinations—telling you instead of showing you. In the ATL Airport District, we live these words out loud each and every day. From sun-up to sun-down, we are welcoming to all, championing the many minority-owned businesses we proudly partner with, and sharing in the beautiful stories of our residents.
We work with many different types of groups and we often hear back from them afterward. Below are just a few examples of how we've made an impact on their meetings.
"Coordinating the logistics of a pet tradeshow has its unique challenges and add to it a pandemic and staffing shortages. You would think this would be a recipe for disaster and it certainly would have been if it wasn’t for the support of the truly dedicated and talented individuals at the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC). From our event coordinator, Crystal Hill-Cox, who gave us many meeting room drawings for every situation (Covid, non-Covid), to the general manager, Jason Causey and his building engineer, Anton, who worked tirelessly in moving our dog spa to another section of the exhibit hall and ensuring the spa opened on time, to our catering manager, Victoria Reddington and her boss, Lawrence Marrow, who worked with our budget to customize a delicious and creative reception menu for our attendees. In the event business, it’s incredibly important to have supportive, reliable partners and we can whole-heartedly say the GICC provides this and more!"

"GICC's location is what brings us back every year. Because GICC is connected to the Atlanta airport, people can fly in for our event, stay in one of the six hotels on campus and fly out without needing to rent a car. We believe this is one of the reasons we've held successful events at GICC for the past eight years."

"Cookie, Jenna, and team did an excellent job welcoming our family during a recent family reunion. Initially, I was apprehensive about the level of service we would get based on the relatively small size of our group (115). However, we were assured that the same level of service would be granted to us as large scale groups. Prior to engaging with the team, we coordinated directly with vendors and our experience was plagued with poor customer service and frustration. After we met Cookie and Jenna, our frowns were turned upside down. We are truly appreciative of all of their hard work and dedication to ensuring our family reunion was a class act. Thanks to the entire team, they exceeded expectations."

"I’ve been so impressed by the Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway Hotel and the ATL Airport District CVB that I hope to make this the conference’s home for the foreseeable future," Jenny said. "The process of planning the conference, even without extensive meeting planning experience, has been extremely smooth thanks to the amazing teams at the hotel and CVB. My goal is to blow everyone away and get them excited to come back next year and beyond, knowing I have the support to plan a great event."
