Charlita Varner opened Buttersweet Bakery, offering traditional and modern sweets to the Hapeville community – including their famous cakes, cookies and pastries – and has easily become a local favorite. The bakery partners with Butterfat Bistro, as well, to serve a mix of dining options to the community.
Butterfat Bistro
Hapeville’s Butterfat Bistro is a fan favorite, offering all things sweet and savory. Choose from a wide range of cheeses, soups and greens, thoughtfully prepared by Tamika Hurley-Carr and Genia Williams, making healthy dining options accessible for Hapeville citizens.
CamiCakes
CamiCakes is known for its fresh take on cakes and cupcakes, bringing innovative baking ideas to life. Andra Hall took her love for baking and paired it with the love she has for her daughter, Camille – the namesake of CamiCakes. Hall serves treats made with premium ingredients, fluffy icing and tons of creativity to the East Point community.
Fish Bowl Poké
Serving high quality, sustainably sourced ingredients, Fish Bowl Poké brings customizable Hawaiian poké bowls to Hapeville, where it is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Selecting a base, protein, marinade and various toppings, guests can create bowls that are both delicious and healthy.

Johnny's Chicken and Waffles
Brought to Atlanta by Crystal Smith, Ne-Yo and Karlie Redd, Johnny’s Chicken and Waffles opened in December 2020, bringing signature Southern food to the College Park community. With options like Johnny’s famous chicken & waffles, brioche French toast logs and triple decker grilled cheese sandwiches, you can’t go wrong – and will always leave wanting more.
KiDsGyM USA
Tracy and Stephanie Campbell opened KiDsGyM USA to encourage physical and mental health for children through fitness. Promoting youth development through their gymnastics programming, KiDsGyM USA allows children in College Park to learn the sport, compete and develop sportsmanship by participating in competitions across the globe.
Kupcakerie
Satisfy your sweet tooth with gourmet cupcakes from East Point favorite, Kupcakerie. Featuring classic cupcakes and unique flavors like Peanut Butta Have My Chocolate, Not Yo Mama’s Banana Pudding, Lemonade and Cookies & Dreams, you are sure to find something to cure your dessert cravings.

Hapeville’s Lickety Split specializes in homestyle Southern fare, featuring family recipes from owner Melissa Harris. Lickety Split combines comfort, dining and hospitality into an experience that blends 30 years of flavors and recipes – bringing a taste of Southern flare to those who dine at the restaurant.
Nouveau Bar & Grill
Owner Ebony Austin combined her experience in marketing and real estate to bring Nouveau Bar & Grill to life. Old Lady Gang
Todd Tucker and Kandi Burruss-Tucker opened Old Lady Gang, a Southern eatery honoring Kandi’s mother, Joyce Jones, and aunts, Berth Jones and Nora Wilcox – the original Old Lady Gang. OLG is home to Southern recipes Kandi grew up cooking and that brought her family together – and she works to bring the District community together through food, too.
Rosie's Coffee Cafe
Rosie Gail originally opened Rosie’s Coffee Cafe, a community-centric spot known for its locally sourced produce, fresh ingredients and loving atmosphere. Sheri Ricks has taken over ownership in hopes of keeping the memory and legacy of Rosie alive. Sheri is passionate about providing customers with cheerful and fun-loving service in East Point.
