For a team-building experience that truly inspires connection instead of eye rolls (nobody likes forced fun), check out the array of diverse entertainment options, thrilling activities and educational experiences in the ATL Airport District. Whether you are looking to entertain a small team for an afternoon outing or planning a multi-day retreat for hundreds of employees, the District is a dynamic destination filled with history, culture, art, sports, delicious dining and more for your group to enjoy.
Sportcentric Activities
For a little friendly competition in the great outdoors, invite your team to the Historic College Park Golf Course for a quick round or time on the driving range. Built in 1929, this charming 9-hole golf course offers a picturesque setting to unwind and foster connections.
Rather watch the competition? Treat your group to an exciting WNBA Atlanta Dream or College Park Skyhawks home game at the Gateway Center Arena. The Historic College Park Golf Course and the Gateway Center Arena are both conveniently situated on the airport-connected Gateway Center Campus, which is also home to six hotels and the state’s second-largest convention center – the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC).
Team build in the fast lane at the Porsche Experience Center! You'll find boardrooms and conference space for as few as 6 and up to 130 guests with state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment and an unmatched view overlooking the test tracks. Once the meeting is done, groups can test their mettle on the track with a variety of driving experiences, ranging from 2-hour drive programs, demonstration laps with a seasoned professional at the wheel, or cruising world-renowned race tracks in the Simulator Lab. Beyond the business center are several event spaces, including the Atrium, Terrace, and Heritage and Classic galleries - or even a full facility buy-out - for up to 1,000 attendees.
Explore History
Situated in renovated 1940s-era Delta aircraft hangars, the Delta Flight Museum blends historic glamour with modern amenities. Activities for your team include flying the only Boeing 737 full-motion flight simulator open to the public in the U.S., exploring historic aircrafts dating back to the 1920s, and discovering the future of flight with Atlanta’s major home airline. Private tours for up to 25 people are available at a cost of $100 to $150, plus a $10 admission fee per person.
Transport your group to an era when America ran on rails at the Hapeville Depot Museum. Upon arrival, a knowledgeable member of the museum’s educational staff will welcome groups with a 10-minute introduction to the site and an overview of the origins of Hapeville, followed by a guided tour through the museum, gallery space and art park. Free group tours are offered Wednesday through Sunday and can be reserved on their website.
Discover the captivating history of the renowned Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich and gain insight into the core business values with a guided Chick-fil-A Backstage Tour. This storytelling experience provides team members with meaningful takeaways and an understanding of how the company ascended to become the #1 chicken restaurant chain in America. Tickets for the tour range from $10 to $20 per person and can be purchased online.
Get Artsy
For a creative team-building activity, consider one of the many classes or workshops offered at the Atlanta Printmakers Studio (APS). Groups will not only learn about collecting fine art prints, but also engage in the creation process. Housed in a renovated 1950s Amoco gas station in downtown Hapeville, APS features a printmaking museum, gallery, store, outdoor gathering space and more. Full details on their unique classes and workshops can be found online.
Add a dose of local culture to your team outing with a live performance at the Academy Theatre - the longest running professional theatre in the Southeast - or a laughter-filled night at Uptown Comedy Corner.
Kick Back and Relax
For the ultimate relaxing treat, book a day of pampering at the Wellness Spot, an upscale fitness studio and day spa in College Park offering luxury group experiences, as well as an intimate event space. Or cap off a day of team bonding with a craft beer flight at Arches Brewing in their taproom or inviting biergarten, or on Beer Girl's patio overlooking Hapeville's Arts Alley.
Of course, breaking bread is the classic bonding experience. Our eclectic restaurant scene has something for every palate and there are plenty of private dining options available for enjoying a taste of the District's hospitality.
