Getting Around

It's all right here.

There’s a lot to see and do in the ATL Airport District. And while some find it plenty walkable, others prefer a smooth ride—especially if their itineraries are taking them beyond the immediate area and into Greater Metro Atlanta. Whether you’re travelling alone or with a group, the District has lots of easy, affordable, and safe ways to get everyone where they want to go.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION

Down the block or across the District.

Obviously, you can drive all over the place on Atlanta’s famed highway system. If you prefer not to drive, you’ve got the Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) to take you virtually anywhere in the area, and the free 24-hour ATL SkyTrain to travel to the Gateway Center Campus (home of the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC), Gateway Center Arena, and several hotels) and the Rental Car Center (RCC) (home of rental cars). Taxis, Lyft, and Uber are always available, as well as free airport shuttle services from many of our hotels.

MASS TRANSIT

MARTA offers both rail and bus service throughout the area, including all points within the ATL Airport District.

There’s a MARTA rail station inside Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), conveniently located near the baggage claim area and offering access to the Red and Gold lines that run north and south through the center of Atlanta and into Sandy Springs and Doraville, respectively. Transfers to the east-west Blue and Green lines are free at Five Points Station. This gives you a quick and affordable way to get from the airport to Atlanta’s downtown business and entertainment district, Midtown, Buckhead, Dunwoody, Avondale Estates, Decatur, and central destinations throughout the ATL Airport District.

MARTA has bus stops and rail stations within walking distance of many of Atlanta’s major attractions and destinations. Fare options include regular one-way rides, discounted and group fares, multi-trip passes, and 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, and 7-day passes for those who wish to ride to their hearts’ content.

For more information, visit the MARTA website.

CAR RENTALS

Drive your own destiny.

Some people just need to feel the wind in their hair, which is hard to do on the bus or train. We get that. In the ATL Airport District, the Rental Car Center (RCC) is the place to go for any set of wheels you desire. Linked to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC) via the ATL SkyTrain, the RCC is an easy, free, five-minute ride from the airport terminal, and all of the major rental agencies can be found in one place.

For groups larger in size, bus charters can be easily arranged. Begin by searching the listings below to see the District’s selection of chauffeured transportation and shuttle buses. For VIPs and partygoers who deserve the very best, limo and town car services are also widely available throughout the District.
